Please take a few minutes to read through the terms and conditions as these form the basis of the contract for your order. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. Terms and Conditions are for general information and may be subject to change at any time.
DEPOSIT & PAYMENT POLICY
Wedding Cakes:
When placing an order for wedding cakes we require a 50% booking fee, this is a non-refundable and non-transferable to secure the date you require and is also to cover the necessary time given to your order prior to your wedding date - this may include some of the following; administration, emails, phone calls, consultations etc. Final payment for wedding cakes is due no later than FOURTEEN DAYS before the wedding date. If the final payment is not received a reminder may be sent, if no further payment is made we will consider the order cancelled and the deposit lost.
Celebration Cakes, Cup Cakes and other makes:
For all other orders a deposit of 50% is required. All deposits are non-refundable. Final payment will be due the DAY before the delivery / collection date, unless otherwise agreed.
Please note until a cleared deposit payment is received your order will NOT be booked or date held.
Deposits and full payment can be made via bank transfer or cash.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation by the customer: If the order is cancelled, your deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable, payment is required for any and all expenses already incurred on behalf of the finished product.
For weddings if you cancel within 6 months of the date the deposit of 50% will NOT be refunded. Cancellation within 2 weeks of the date the full payment will be retained. This is to cover monies lost, as Cake Crazy will have turned away other business for your order, it is very unlikely we could re-fill the date at such short notice.
For all other orders cakes if you cancel within 4 weeks of the date the 50% deposit will NOT be refunded. If you cancel within 7 days of your event full payment will be invoiced.
If Cake Crazy cancels an order: in the event of exceptional circumstances, like an illness for instance and Cake Crazy are unable to fulfill your order, we will do our upmost to find someone else who can produce your order and will refund any monies already paid.
Cake Crazy shall not be liable for any failure to perform, where such failure or delay results from any circumstances outside our reasonable control including but not limited to: traffic congestion, adverse weather conditions, fire, flood, mechanical breakdown, riots, act of god, act of war, terrorism etc.
POSTPONEMENTS
In the event that you wish to postpone your wedding please let us know as soon as possible, If work has not commenced and any materials / ingredients have not been procured, subject to revised date being available your deposit will be transferred to your new date. Revised bookings may be subject to any price increases since the original booking was made.
DESIGN AND COLOURS
At Cake Crazy we will do our upmost to create the design of cake wanted by our clients but can only create your finished order from what we interpret from the wording of your order; therefore it is vital you check everything is correct. Whilst it may not be possible to create exact specifications when modeling food, Cake Crazy will work with you often using pictures or sketches to make sure you are happy with any design.
Cake Crazy cakes are handmade and will therefore have minor variations in appearance.
Illustrations, descriptions, photos and pictures are for guidance purposes only.
You may wish to supply us with sample colours (i.e. ribbon / material), we will do our very best to meet your colour requirements, although an exact match cannot be guaranteed. This also applies to food colourings and icings.
CHANGES TO YOUR ORDER
Cake Crazy aims to meet your requirements and understands that sometimes situations occur which can result in you wanting to change your order. Please contact us as early as possible to ensure any changes can be actioned, generally 4 weeks’ notice is required for any changes. Cake Crazy will assess the request for an alteration, and endeavour to make alteration where possible dependant on the design and amount of notice given. We will let you know its effect on the price and any agreed timetable. Accepting any alterations is at the discretion of the Seller. If you have any queries or need to make any changes to an order please contact Cake Crazy immediately. Alterations and amendments must be submitted in writing.
Cake Crazy also reserves the right to amend / change / alter the design at any point if circumstances beyond our control compromise the quality of the finished product. e.g. weather conditions. The Buyer will be notified of any such changes and we will endeavour to keep any changes minimal. From time to time certain materials for our cakes may become obsolete. This is totally out of our control; however, we will do our best to select replacement products to reflect the original design as closely as possible. We reserve the right to replace items with component parts of equal or better quality without consultation.
Cake Crazy cannot guarantee an exact replica of any cake, but we will do our best to make it as close as we possibly can. Where colour swatches are provided, we will do our best to match as close as we deem possible. Exact colour matches are not guaranteed.
PRECAUTIONS AND CAUTIONS FOR SUMMER ORDERS
Cake Crazy recommends caution when considering cakes decorated with chocolate or buttercreams and where to place cake displays for summer occasions, Cake Crazy cannot accept responsibility for any melting of the cake once it has left our possession, as we have no control over the environment / venue temperature or display placements. We can however advise you of designs that are less susceptible to melting and / or give advise of storage and display placements to reduce the impact.
NON-EDIBLE ITEMS
Some cakes contain small proportions of inedible items; it is the client’s responsibility to ensure these are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption e.g. Ribbons, support dowels in tiered cakes, wires in sugar flowers, flower tape, flower pics, cocktail sticks, crystals etc. Non edible items will be printed on a label on the cake box and the person who receives the order notified.
FOOD ALLERGY DISCLAIMER
Cake Crazy is NOT an allergy-free kitchen. We cannot guarantee that our products are free from ingredients that may affect those with food allergies. Cake Crazy recognise the seriousness of food allergies and we recommend that you contact us before you place an order to inform us of any food allergies that you or your party may have, we reserve the right to decline any orders for clients with food allergies. Cake Crazy will not assume any liability for adverse reactions to our products.

Please note that some food colourings may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children.
DELIVERY POLICY
Any delivery charges will be explained / priced at the time of ordering. Collection of orders is free.
When delivering to a wedding venue, we will contact either the venue or client in advance to arrange a mutually convenient time for delivery. If we set up the wedding cake, we shall take a photograph of the cake before leaving and where possible, obtain a signature from the venue confirming the cake has been received in good condition. Should the venue need to set up the cake themselves we shall explain how the cake is to be displayed and give instructions of the best way in completing the set up of the cake and where possible, obtain a signature to verify we have done so. Once the cake has been delivered, we are unable to accept any liability for any damage sustained to the cake thereafter nor any failure to follow the instructions provided.
ACCEPTANCE OF CAKE UPON COLLECTION/DELIVERY
The customer will always be asked to inspect the order and sign that they have received their order in good undamaged condition and that Cake Crazy has fulfilled the order (where a signature cannot be obtained, a photo of the order will have been taken prior to the order being collected / delivered). If Cake Crazy delivers and sets up an order the photo will be taken once order is in position and a signature obtained if possible.
Cake Crazy appreciates clients efforts in keeping to the agreed collection / delivery arrangements as along with the client Cake Crazy will have other commitments throughout the day, if for any reason beyond Cake Crazy’s control that we are unable to fulfill a collection / delivery commitment Cake Crazy will inform the customer as soon as is possible and if necessary rearrange a new convenient time, likewise if you are late or unable to collect / take delivery for any reason please inform Cake Crazy as soon as possible to arrange a revised collection / delivery that is mutually convenient.
Where a customer fails to collect / take delivery of an order Cake Crazy will attempt to rearrange a mutual collection slot. If a customer fails to collect a rearranged order then Cake Crazy reserves the right to invoice the full amount of your order.
COMPLAINTS
All orders require a signature on delivery / collection, this indicates you are happy with the product received (where a signature cannot be obtained, a photo of the order will have been taken prior to receiving your order.)
Cake Crazy strives to ensure customers are happy with their purchase. If you are not satisfied with your order please ensure you make this known when accepting your cake. This gives us the opportunity to correct any problems. We are not responsible for mistakes made by the customer i.e. incorrect / misspelled names or incorrect choice of cake. We always keep samples of our products for a reasonable time. In addition, we always take photographs of the cakes prior to delivery / collection.
In the unlikely event you do have a complaint please contact us immediately, we will do our very best to resolve this. We take pride in customer satisfaction. Your complaint may require further investigation for us to assess. Cakes, or part of cakes and cupcakes, must be returned to us within 24 hours to ensure we are able to fairly assess the nature of the complaint. The cake must have been carefully transported, moved and stored at the correct temperature and in the box we supplied, out of the sun and away from damp conditions or heat. In order for us to resolve any complaints quickly and to our mutual satisfaction, we advise you to make any complaint within 1 day of delivery and you must return at least 80% of the uneaten product within the 48 hours of delivery.
We do not offer refunds for customers that have simply changed their mind or if the cake has been damaged out of our care.
Please note icing may crack as it dries out, or may condensate and warp if kept in humid areas or in areas with inappropriate temperatures, which is out of our control. We recommend you consume your cake as soon as it is cut. We do not accept complaints for not liking the taste of our products mainly because individual's tastes are different. We can offer a tasting service for a small fee, which allows you the opportunity to taste our products should you wish to do so prior to ordering.
Cake Crazy can take no responsibility for any subsequent damage once the cake has been handed over to the customer or venue. Cake Crazy will not be liable should the customer believe there are any problems with the cake once it has been accepted, this includes design, colour etc.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Cake Crazy reserves the right to use any photographs for display or promotion without compensation to you.
TRAVELLING WITH THE CAKE
The cake is best placed either in the boot or the foot well of the car on a non-slip mat. Extra care should be taken when driving, as some elements may/will be delicate. DO NOT place the cake on a seat in the car, seats are slanted and can damage the cake. Cake Crazy cannot take any responsibility for damage to cakes once collected.
STORAGE
All Fondant decorated cakes/cupcakes should be placed on a flat surface and stored in a cool room in the box provided. They should be kept out of direct sunlight. Some Cupcakes are best stored in the fridge but brought up to room temperature before consuming. Please note cupcakes are best consumed before 2 days and cakes within 3 days. We recommend you consume your cake as soon as it is cut.
